Karel,
In case you have opted for "Ipswitch WS_FTP Server" as
User database, this information is held in the registry. However, the
passwords are encrypted there. I'm pretty sure there may be a tool to
decrypt them, but I don't know it. BTW, it is not possible to make
them visible with usual tools, which work with the asterisks
password fields. WS_FTP Server Manager does not retrieve the
passwords back into this field, but fills it always with a dummy value of
"X12Y34Z56"...
I would also be happy to have a tool for
decryption. If anyone has one, please let me know.
Regards,
Erich

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] passwords in WS_FTP server (wsftp: addressed to exclusive sender for this address)
Greetings,
is there any way to see the
passwords on existing FTP accounts on WS_FTP-server e. g. in the registry? I
have a problem with some user accounts that I have to provide the passwords
again and they are not documented.
Regards
Karel Baur
