I think you may have to just change the passwords and give them the new
passwords since you have to notify the users anyways since they seem to
have forgotten their passwords, you can just tell them you changed the
passwords. If you are at a company and don't want to run any risk of
security violations by downloading third party software to retrieve the
passwords you might want to do that anyways.

v8 
and 9 as well.
