Thankyou for the helpful and interesting comment (love the Frodo allusion Ryan)
Well I certainly did jump into the deep end, though I have been learning for some months now, have done a day course with John Allsop, and pretty much feel like I know what I'm doing. The problem is I have to massage my way of working somewhat - at the moment the design is what I make first and then try to shoehorn CSS into it, which is proving very annoying.
I still think however, that the piecemeal and confusing support for CSS that the browsers have at the moment means that full CSS sites restrict your design options considerably. I'm going to sticck with 'up to Russ' point 4' for now.
That said, I've almost completed an entire professional site which is fully CSS, thanks to Russ' help, and I'm quite proud of that one.
Here's the other one that was giving me so much grief last night, finally working with the help of a few two column tables:

The Homepage and the 'Classes' page layouts are currently done (text styling to do yet).
Comments welcome
Peter
PS Ryan - have a break, get laid and pissed? Good advice, but I was way ahead of you my friend ...
PPS Hanging out for Jackson's 'Hobbit' myself.
