>From the way I read it they're both at 32 bit. My guess would be that safari is using ColorSync to match the jpg to what it would like in print, which would be fine if you weren't trying to match it the gif next-door. You might have to use one format or the other (or switch both to png, which is lossless but can still display 32 bit images).
