IE will handle 8 bit transparency (same as gif) in a PNG just fine, you don't need to do anything.

24 bit transparency support requires some IE only work-arounds.

See: http://devilock.mine.nu/pixie/

as a behavior: http://webfx.eae.net/dhtml/pngbehavior/pngbehavior.html

or as javascript: http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but all these methods rely on javascript being enabled.

Hello All,

At the following url:

I've a nav <ul> that i would like to highlight, with a pencil underline graphic, my boggle is the background. A gif or jpg will not work with background image, so I would like to use a PNG. What graceful solution exists for accommodating IE?
