In my opinion a simple string of <a></a> would work just fine. The information that you are trying to display is not really a list. So a string of anchor links in a paragraph or span would work the best.
1) Homey thatched cottage with warm hearth 2) Known friendly forest with tweeting birds 3) Strange creepy forest with growling beasts 4) Gingerbread cottage with hot oven
This looks like a list to me, and an ordered one at that. If Gretel and I stand any chance whatsoever of getting back to Father, we'd better find those breadcrumbs in sequence or our goose is cooked (so to speak).
