There does, indeed, seem to be a trend towards blog looking layout...my guess is that those types of layouts are the most usable; main content on the left - subnav/extra info on the right.Hello all,
I may be a little late with this, so forgive me, but I just read here http://web-graphics.com/ that http://www.turner.com/ just relaunched using a standards-based layout/construction, etc.
It's a very nice, clean and useable... blog... I mean... site. Anyone else see a design trend in "standards-based" sites?
Left Nav is soooo first half of 2000. ;)
Not all web standards complient websites are blog looking...these are two recently launched ones:
http://www.jcbfm.com/ <-- Nature.com's ournal of cerebral blood flow
and metabolism
http://www.punbb.org/ <-- A completely semantic web standards complient forum application. (very very tight!)
However, in the end, and most importantly, a big company like Turner caring about standards is great news.
I love watching all the big boys realising the error of their ways, then actually doing something good about it! Go Web Standards!
Cheers Darren. ****************************************************** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/
