If you want an example of frames being used, just use google/yahoo/etc. image search. Every image you click opens a new window with a google/yahoo/etc. top frame and the site in the bottom frame. Of course, people hate this. One alternative might be to make a page on the client's website for each manufacturer, and on that page have a link to the manufacturer's site. This way the stifling business presence of your client is still asserted.
