I think Safari and Firefox got it right, that the 3 columns' elements
are 'inheriting' the opacity from the #ftr_wrap, which is what I wanted.

I think a bug report may be worth while. Opera is pretty fast at
corrections.
Fwiw, if opacity is moved from #ftr_wrap to #col1, #col2, #col3, Opera
9.24/OS X 10.4.10. paints it as I believe you intend on a local file.
