and if I remember correctly, the functionality to be provided as originally stated was a link to a "next page". I'd suggest that that specific functionality - linking - is adequately provided by the anchor tag, and it is inappropriate to use a button (of any kind) to provide that functionality.

(And I believe it's irrelevant that various screens specific to an OS use buttons to progress from screen to screen, e.g. MacOS's use of a "Continue" button during software installation. If it's a web site provide a consistent, standard *web* interface).
