The blank alt attributes for the foreground images are brow-wrinklers for me. When an image is in the foreground I figure that it is "content" that contributes substantially to the comprehension of the site, and I see no reason to withhold that information from search engines and other sightless users.

I see no reason to withhold information from anyone, particularly from search engines or sightless users; and, consequently, alt attributes will, of course, be added well in due time of the site's launch date.

One of the site's owners requests is that the site be functional and usable in any given screen window from 640px and up. This, at least as of this writing, precludes the possibility of using background images.
