The watchdog is useful but annoying in its behavior IMHO.
For example, if you have JT-Alert bringing the window to the front on
end-of-period the watchdog dialog box ends up behind the window. Then you
click and nothing happens until you figure out you timed out, mouse over
your taskbar for WSJTX and see the dialog box waiting for you to click it.
Not sure why a dialog box is needed. There's no user interaction really
required. What would be better is a voice announcement and just disable
transmit.
And I could see forcing TX messages to the RX window while the watchdog is
enabled (overriding the "Tx message to Rx frequency window" or making that
another option. That would at least give a visual indication on screen on
what was going on when you forgot about it.
