Doesn't that beg for an option then?  You can skip the voice....I just realized 
WSJT-X doesn't support that anyways.
How about a message in the RX window that tells you the runaway kicked in.  I 
just don't like a dialog box that gets hidden so when you then try to click for 
a reply nothing happens and you have to go search for the dialog....quite 
frustrating.
compared to seeing 8 CQ's in the window and the Enable TX button not enabled I 
think I've got you beat :-)

Perhaps in your setup, but not in mine.  I don't use (and don't want) 
voice announcements from a program.  When the watchdog times out, it's 
probably because I left the shack while calling CQ.  I simply want the 
program to stop doing so, and to leave an indication of my forgetfulness 
on screen for me to see when I come back.
