Hi Leif, sorry you are having issues with the WSJT-X v1.4.0-rc2 beta release.
I have recently added fixes to hamlib for both the IC-7700 and the IC-7100. Here is an installer for a version with the changes included: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4192709/wsjtx-1.4.0-rc3-win32-r4595.exe Install it over the WSJT-X v1.4.0-rc2 beta release (no need to un-install) and give it a try. Let me know how it goes please. On the sound card rate issue, I did not realize that HRD used a 44.1 kHz rate for DM-780. The automatic sound rate conversions in Windows 8 and greatly improved from previous versions and a down conversion from 48kHz to 44.1kHz should be clean. Up conversions are less likely to be clean. So I would set the sound card default rate to 48kHz and try that with both WSJT-X and DM-780. 73 Bill G4WJS.
