Through the extreme kindness of Richard, M0CZL, who provided me with a copy of his WSJT-X v1.5.0-devel-win32 install build, and the continued encouragement of Julian, VK4CMV, who shares the "KV decoder error" problem and similarly seeks resolution, I believe we have resolution. 17+ hours of continuous running and decoding with WSJT-X v1.5.0-devel r4848 have passed, and not one single error, temporary or complete lock-up, pop- up error window, or any other complaint. My decoding, between 2014-Dec-23 14:43 and 2014-Dec-24 07:18, has been flawless, as recorded in my ALL.txt file. All uninstalled Windows Updates have been re-installed, and now all "recommended" and "important" updates are present in my OS. The only difference noted is the kvasd.exe application. Version 1.5.0-devel r4848 installs a 48KB kvasd.exe file whereas those in earlier versions were 181KB in size. Other than that, I'm too tired from testing to do much more exploring this week. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Paul DU2/WA8UGN > Sent: Tuesday, December 23, 2014 6:16 AM > . . . > Final confirmation of WSJT-X - Windows interaction having some > relationship to the errors observed came when each Windows update was > . . . > The "offending" Windows Updates are: > > KB3025390 - major "offender" > KB2952664 - minor "offender" > > . . . > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Best 73 from the Philippines, Paul DU2/WA8UGN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dive into the World of Parallel Programming!
