Follow-up:  I had to delete the wsjt-x config file in LOCAL before I could 
recover.  All is normal now.

I am now running win 10 Pro 64 on iMac 2008 2ghz 4gb machine.  I am about to 
install from scratch.  Am I the bleeding edge ?  More later.
