Thank you for this additional information.

Just an idea: What do you think about a test at the program start, after 
verifying that all needed packages and plugins are available ? In fact, 
if the user does only want to replay stored wav files, the access to the 
sound card will not be needed. Perhaps, just a warning at the start ?
