Hi Bill, Joe, and all,
I have an 8-channel sdr, implemented using Gnuradio, that writes 8 audio
streams to the 8 subdevices associated with the snd-aloop Loopback device. I
was playing around with the idea of running 8 instances of wsjt-x, with each
instance connected to one of the 8 subdevices. The problem that I encountered
is that the subdevices are not explicitly listed in the list provided in the
wsjt-x setup dialog. How would I tell wsjt-x which subdevice to use? I should
note that I do see the loopback device, and I can connect to it and everything
works OK, but I seem to get the "next available" device, making it hard to be
sure what subdevice is actually being used.

I tried setting up an .asoundrc file that assigns unique names to each
subdevice. I can see all of the subdevices from within fldigi, and can connect
to any one of them, so I am convinced that the basic pieces are all working.

The overall idea is to run with the 8 instances minimized, showing only the 8
waterfalls, and to use the UDP client to view the combined set of spots.
