Hi Guy,
I'm not sure what you are asking here?
The current situation with the development branch of WSJT-X as at
^/branches/wsjtx r6333 is:
* Aggressive decoding is automatically disabled for JT9+JT65 mode,
whatever the setting is.
* Using JT65 only mode with "Settings->General->Enable
VHF/UHF/Microwave Features" checked allows FTol to be adjusted on
the main screen and decoder aggression level to be set in
"Settings->Advanced".
Using the VHF & up features on HF is only for testing and review, using
an aggression level of zero is recommended for normal operation on HF.
An enormous amount of testing, review, analysis and fine tuning has been
done by Steve and Joe in choosing the optimum characteristics of the
current JT65 decoder for HF and for EME operation. The tiny degradation
when using the HF characteristics is traded off against the large number
of potential false decodes. Note that false decodes when working a sked
on EME when only the two QSO partners are on the same frequency is very
different from on HF where up to 50, or more, distinct decodes may be
delivered per period.
