Use TeamViewer. Works quite well. I've been using it to help install and my attic antennas too. Webcam on the SWR meter in the shack and TeamViewer to turn on transmit and change bands.
You can use JTAlert also to set up texting to your phone so you can relax a bit and have your phone buzz you when something interesting happens.
