Hi Ed,

this is not a bug. The problem is that FlexRadio chose the Kenwood 
protocol for CAT and until the TS-590 Kenwood have not had specific AFSK 
data modes on their rigs. Instead, on some  rigs, they have a parameter 
on the TX CAT command that selects either the MIC socket or the AIN pin 
on the rear panel. The AIN pin bypasses the MIC GAIN and processor 
circuits. Flex do not have that parameter to control the audio routing. 
FlexRadio have chosen to use the mode numbers in teh CAT mode set 
command MD for RTTY and RTTY-R to select DIGL and DIGU respectively but 
Hamlib assumes these are FSK modes and unsuitable for AFSK.

The answer is to set the WSJT-X "Settings->Radio->Mode" to "None" which 
tells WSJT-X to not try and set the rig mode and then set the mode on 
the rig to DIGU yourself. I believe this is easily done as part of user 
profile.
