Since you are building your OS X executables yourself, I can't make an exact comparison. It's hard to guess what may have gone wrong for you. According to the display at https://pskreporter.info/cgi-bin/pskstats.pl approximately 30 WSJT-X users are presently running WSJT-X v1.7.0-devel revisions 6665 and later, apparently without problems. I don't know whether any of these are running OS X.
