Hi Bill and Joe -

I was just playing around with WSPR-2 mode while becoming familiar with a new
radio. The radio isn’t yet connected to an external reference, so I decided to
use WSJT-X’s frequency-offset correction capability to correct a 4 Hz offset on
30m WSPR-2. In the Frequencies tab of the preferences, I entered the 0.4ppm
slope into the B box, leaving A=0. This didn’t make any difference in the
waterfall display, nor did it change the reported frequencies in the printed
decodes. The frequency correction was applied only after I activated the Tune
button, at which time it looks like it sent an offset frequency to the radio.
When I disabled Tune, I could see the jump in the waterfall indicating that the
frequency correction was being applied to the displayed signals. Is it supposed
to be necessary to transmit in order to get the frequency correction to “take"?
