Appears split is disabled for the VHF/UHF/Microwave features.  Perhaps it
should grey out the selection in the radio tab and/or turn split off on the
rig?Happens on my Omni VII too so it's true for all rigs.
The change in WSJT-X in 1.6 was to use the single split command to Commander
(instead of WSJT-X doing all the VFO switching) which then does not handle it
well with the K3.
I maintain that's DXKeeper's problem to fix if their split command misbehaves.
WSJT-X "could" fix it but it's in more in DXKeeper's interest to fix it.

OK!  The difference is in the "General" settings ... when I installed,
WSJT-X 1.7 defaulted to "enable VHF/UHF/Microwave features" and "Allow
TX Frequency changes while transmitting" checked.  I did not change
 them.

After seeing your settings, I unchecked both and suddenly, VFO B was
being set correctly - whether PTT was on the same port as CAT or on
a different port.  I then checked "Allow TX frequency changes while
transmitting" and split continued to work correctly.  Checking "Enable
VHF/UHF/Microwave features" again, resulted is an immediate failure to
 set VFO B properly.

I just fired up my second (Icom) system - it *does not* have "Enable
VHF/UHF/Microwave features" checked.  If I check "Enable VHF/UHF
/Microwave features" on that system, the Icom fails to operate properly
 in Split.

I guess the issue is with the "VHF/UHF/Microwave features", not the
choice of CAT/PTT ports or radio protocol.

Now, the key is to fix the "VHF/UHF/Microwave features" and back out
the change in Commander (and HRD?) that occurred between 1.5 and 1.6
and resulted in audio muting with the K3.

I've sent you the trace *and* sent you another trace this morning
as requested.  Bottom line, both 7004 (the trace version ) and 7005
("alpha 1") are setting VFO B to the same frequency as VFO A when
doing PTT via RTS for both PTT on the CAT port and PTT on a separate
 port.

As a sanity check, I tried PTT via CAT and it also fails to set VFO B
properly.  I did not make another trace recording (was using 7005).
Bottom line, something is broken with Split and Fake it for Elecraft
 and Kenwood.

There is something still flakey in that release regarding the macros
and JTAlert staying tied to it in-position on the screen. Going back
 to r6941-dirty again. 73 Dwight NS9I

Just run it so that it fails on one split setting and stop it.
You'll find a trace log in
 %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\WSJT-X_trace.log that you can send
to me and perhaps we can figure out if it's just you or if a hamlib
 change needs to be made.

No, he's using a microHAM microKEYER II (MK II) as his digital and
CAT interface.  The microHAM configuration/driver software provides
a *managed* serial splitter for the CAT channel.  "2nd CAT" is the
second radio control control port on that splitter.

I am using the same hardware/software.
