Appears split is disabled for the VHF/UHF/Microwave features. Perhaps it should grey out the selection in the radio tab and/or turn split off on the rig?
Happens on my Omni VII too so it's true for all rigs.
Split is used for other things in VHF & up mode. Doppler correction and working stations off a calling frequency for two.

The change in WSJT-X in 1.6 was to use the single split command to Commander (instead of WSJT-X doing all the VFO switching) which then does not handle it well with the K3.
Commander has never offered low level rig control commands, it abstracts the rig at a higher level and we expect it to do the right thing. There have been problems with some rigs and interfaces, especially when we try and manage the mode of the rig. A recent as yet unreleased change to Commander (v12.2.6) adds a new option to leave the mode of the split Tx VFO alone when we don't want to change it. The changes I checked in yesterday include code to take advantage of this new Commander option when WSJT-X "Settings->Radio->Mode" is "None". Until this feature some rigs like the K3 when used with microHam MK2 type interfaces have been problematic, hopefully those users can now set "Mode" to "None" and have Commander leave the rig's mode settings alone when used with WSJT-X.

I maintain that's DXKeeper's problem to fix if their split command misbehaves. WSJT-X "could" fix it but it's in more in DXKeeper's interest to fix it.

You can maintain what you like but until the other layers out of our direct control offer the required features, there's not a great deal we can do. The DX LabSuite Commander TCP/IP command reference is included in the contrib directory of WSJT-X if you want to review the protocol offered.

BTW DXKeeper is a FB logging program in the DX Lab Suite, it is not involved in this. The issue was with Commander which is the rig control component of the DX Lab Suite.
