Hi Charlie and all,
Many thanks for your reply and all comments noted.
I did as you suggested, I edited the WSJT-X.ini file to change to
/LockTxFreq=*false*./ Interestingly, after editing and saving the .ini
file and confirming that indeed the edit has taken place, closing WSJT-X
and restarting and immediately viewing the .ini file again, it has
returned to /LockTxFreq=*true*/. All of this is in JT65 or JT9 modes.
I have subsequently discovered however, that this and the obviously
related problem originally described, does not occur in QRA64 mode, only
JT9, JT65 and JT9+JT65 modes. I think this is similar to your JT4
experience Charlie.
It gets even more interesting though. If I go to QRA64, click the 'Lock
Tx=Rx' box, such that TX and Rx are not locked (and confirm that they
are indeed unlocked), then return to either JT65 or JT9 modes, they are
now *_not_* locked either. I can exit the program and restart in JT65
with the RX and TX frequencies remaining unlocked. This would be a work
around but surely not ideal.
I wonder if anyone else is using WSJT-X for JT65 EME? Any similar issues?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Allan

Hi Allan
I can reproduce the behaviour you see.
I edited one line in [common] of the .ini file as follows:
LockTxFreq=false
then saved the file and closed WSJT-X.
After restarting it, the tickbox appeared checked, and tx/rx frequencies
followed each other.
Unchecking the box made them independent, as you want.
All was well until I switched to JT4 (where the lock box disappears) and
reverted back to JT65. I then can see the behaviour you have.

Hi Joe and all,
I originally started this enquiry on Yahoo Groups 'wsjtgroup' and very
kindly received a possible solution from Joe K1JT. However I seem to be
having great trouble with Yahoo, so I am continuing on here. I hope that
is okay.
My Original posting was something like: -
/I currently use WSJT v10 r6088 for 70cm EME. I do not use CAT control,
instead I use a simple 2 x transformer radio to PC (win 10) interface.
Normal EME operation is to transmit with a fixed TX frequency (1500Hz
tone) and to vary the RX (Green bar) within the passband window in order
to follow / decode a particular station due to doppler. With rc2 r7265,
it appears split TX/RX can only be achieved if 'Enable VHF/UHF/Microwave
features" check-box is NOT checked. When it is checked, RX and TX are
permanently locked regardless of whether the 'Lock Tx=Rx' check-box is
checked or not. //Strangely, the box when clicked, will show a tick
momentarily and then disappear, but remains locked. I have verified this
'fault' with a friend of mine and he has exactly the same issue. It is
not a concern for him however as he is not on EME.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled r7265 and the condition remains. I
HAVE read the guide and as one would expect, this is not how the
software is meant to function...see graphic 8.3.JT65
What have I missed, or is this a fault?
/
Subsequently, I have done as Joe advised (below) but to no avail
unfortunately. I have also installed r7265 on another PC which has
never had any WSJT software on it previously. I have exactly the same
issue there too.
Your help would be most welcome,
Cheers,
Allan

What you describe is not what I observe here, and is not what's
intended. As far as I can see, the documentation in Section 8.3 of the
User Guide is correct.
As an attempt to find out what's wrong, please try the following test
that will ensure startup with a "pristine" default setup:
1. With WSJT-X running in your normal way, select *Open log directory*
on the File menu.
2. Right-click on the file WSJT-X.ini, select *Rename*, and rename the
file to (say) WSJT-X.ini.0.
3. Exit WSJT-X.
4. Restart WSJT-X. You will need to re-enter your station parameters
and other desired options.
If the *Lock Tx=Rx* control now behaves as described in the User Guide,
I would conclude that something in your old WSJT-X.ini file was the
cause. In that case, please send me copies of WSJT-X.ini.0 and your
newly created WSJT-X.ini.
