WIndows 10 already reports more about you than you'd care to know by default. Not that we should follow their example....and if Apple hasn't done it yet they will follow suit soon.

I would not like to have to draft the agreement that would be required on installation if we had those options on by default. Are you willing to pay the necessary lawyers fees to ensure that we are protected? MS, Google, Apple, ... all take great care to have their users agree to data gathering by default, it may be hidden in unscrupulous small print and disguised links but it is there somewhere. Also the requirements and regulations are not globally uniform. It is so much easier to offer the option at the users discretion. We have nothing to hide that way.
