Hi Conrad,
Strange problem.
I have heard examples of "zipper noise" correlated with rapid changes of
what's displayed on the monitor -- for example, an update of a what's
displayed by a browser. The noise comes from an upward-sweeping RF
signal picked up by the receiver -- in my case, tuned to some frequency
in the HF range. I concluded that RF is getting out of the video system
and into the Rx front end. I have not seen any such example correlated
with things being displayed by WSJT-X, but that's not to say this is
impossible.
Have you checked to see whether your "zipper noise" is arriving through
the Rx antenna port?

Hello all this is my first post here, sorry that it is reporting a small
problem.
First configuration info.
Windows 10 Professional 64 bit
Intel Core i5-4750 @ 3.2 GHz
Intel HD graphics 4600
8 GB ram
SSD
WSJT 1.8.0
Radio ANAN-100D
CAT control functional, audio input without problems - there are no
overuns or underuns in the TX and RX audio as reported by the adaptive
variable resampler present in PowerSDR mRX PS V3.4.9.
Input and output for WSJT-X is using voice meter banana (VMB), sample
rate is 48000Hz and I am using ASIO drivers.
When I start monitoring modes that use the fast graph I hear 'zipper
noise' pulses on the monitored receive audio at the same rate as the
data is drawn on the graph. I do not get continuous data drawn but what
appears to be 1 second chunks drawn in the fast graph window. With each
write to the graph I get low level audio disturbances that appear to be
synchronised with these pulses. This occurs whenever monitor is active
and even if the fast graph window is closed.
However if I have VMB as well WSJT-X open in the same window then there
is no problem, until WSJT-X has the focus and is active. I only use a
single monitor on the PC to reduce radiated noise so I switch task views
depending on what I am doing. So I have a work around but I would like
to know what is going on and if anyone can suggest a remedy.
I have a feeling that it has something to do with my graphics card.
Can anyone recreate this or offer any suggestions about what I can do?
Regards
Conrad PA5Y
