profile fubar? Or, some kind of radio command thing going from “fake
it” split mode to “none” when doing the configuration change?
Otherwise, v1.4rc worked fine.
BTW, in “fake it” split mode, my radio says it switches +500kc on tx.
Is this normal? Normally, I use “none” so had not noticed this before.

Hi Al,
if you have working CAT control of your rig then you should consider
checking the "Rig" option of "Settings->Radio->Split Operating" for all
HF style multiple decode WSJT-X operation. If that doesn't work reliably
then try "Fake It". Either option adjusts your Tx dial frequency and
audio tones to ensure that the audio delivered to the rig is always
between 1500Hz and 2000Hz, this in turn ensures that any audio harmonics
present are suppressed by the rig's SSB Tx filter. This is a good thing
and allows you to operate anywhere within your rig's Rx passband.
It is essential for DXpedition mode because you will be sent down around
300Hz to work the Fox and that could leave you vulnerable to emitting
audio harmonics, if present, at 600Hz, 900Hz, 1200Hz, 1500Hz, 1800Hz,
2100Hz, 2400Hz, 2700Hz and maybe even 3000Hz if your Tx filter is wide.
That could amount to a lot of QRM to others which is easily suppressed
by setting one of the options above.
Note that any non-linearity in the audio path between your sound card
and rig can generate audio harmonics, the most common cause being to
much audio level to the rig, causing clipping of peak levels.
