In my understanding pulseaudio doesn't remember applications, but streams. Here, with wsjtx, the name of the streams is changing at every program run because it contains the PID of the running process. Please note that all other programs using the audio system, I'm using here, operate as usual after switch from Fedora 26 to 28. Another newly occurred problem is that PTT via CAT was not more working in the case of the FT-2000. This is probably related to hamlib. If I remember well, wsjtx is still using a modified form of hamlib. I ignore where the differences are in contrast to the "standard" hamlib and where the compatibility is, if any.
