source code (r8667). I have directed cmake to use a locally installed
hamlib 3.3.1 (because of PTT via CAT).

Hi !

I recommend to run latest rigctld also.

But you can start it from user crontab. Then it starts nearly (within minute) same time as you log in (start PC, if autologin in use). For that you must do a script to start it and there yo can use all needed parameters.  For wsjt-x the setting is PTT via CAT, and works.

After that you can use SAME setup for EVERY program that uses rigctld (simply just: model 2, net hamlib rigctld). And you can run all them at same time, or individually. No serial line conflicts.

Look at this pfd: http://www.saunalahti.fi/~sakny/bin/cqrlog2/setting_rigctld_for_all_programs.pdf

I have used that kind of setup for a while now and it works very well.
Even when I do not start rig before PC. Like now. The rig is powered off while checking mail. After that I turn it on and check the bands. Rigctld will catch it up when it is powered. (may not be so if rig has USB cat control line)

About the fedora upgrade:

You do not have to upgrade 26 to 28. You can upgrade just to 27, even if 28 is the latest. As Richard says, it is good to wait. And it is not a bad idea to walk always 1 version behind. For me the frist F28 came as accident. I tried first F28, but upgrade fails. Then I tried F27 and it went ok, but resulted to F28 !?! Second laptop upgrade to F28 I made in purpose to see are these problems real, or just because  1st laptop's weird upgrade result.

I have F27 at ham PC and it will be there until it is not supported, or some program needs it to upgrade.
