Two thoughts. First, aren't FT8 and MSK144 designed for very different
kinds of propagation? If so, couldn't FT8 use one of those spare bits to
indicate contest mode?
Second, my concern is the same as Ned's -- it took me several cycles to
see that window (on a different monitor), and I lost control of WSJT-X
until I found it I clicked on No. ALL I want is to NOT have to
acknowledge it and continue on my merry way. AND -- every time this guy
called me with a weird grid (he was probably in contest mode), I got the
same notice.
In other words, I don't need the bit, just not to have the notice window
stop me in my tracks.
