I'm fairly sure that Bill was referring to the fact that Microsoft is not supporting WinXP in any way, shape or form, thus obsolete.

He is NOT saying that WSJT-X 1.9.1 will not work with XP.

IMHO, anyone still on XP and linked to the internet is asking for issues.     Complaints about Windows 10 tend to be of the 'messes up programs' issues, and when dug deeper, its because they're using a program that has not been updated in 5 years or more; or equipment drivers that have not been updated by the user.

With refurbished Win7 computers available on the market at places like Newegg.com, and Tiger Direct starting at under $100, the continued use of Windows XP is unjustified, when the refurbished computers can provide faster CPUs, and additional USB ports.

My 2 pence ...

So does the following statement on the WSJT-X home page need to be modified?:
*Windows*

  * Latest full release, Version 1.9: wsjtx-1.9.1-win32.exe.
    <https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx-1.9.1-win32.exe>
    (runs on Win XP, Vista, Win 7, Win 8, Win10, both 32- and 64-bit).
