Hi Marty,
some of the older Yaesu rigs do not accept CAT QSY commands while
transmitting and the SignaLink USB does not help out with that as it
does it's own thing with the PTT.
If you have the WSJT-X "Settings->General->Allow Tx frequency changes
while transmitting" box checked, try without that checked. Also reduce
the delay on the SignaLink USB to minimum to make the PTT changeover as
deterministic as possible. "Settings->Radio->Split Operating" as "Rig"
is less work for the CAT communications and is normally preferable if it
works. Some rigs with the SignaLink USB work better with
"Settings->Radio->PTT Method" as "CAT" rather than the more conventional
"VOX" setting used with the self-contained PTT function of the SignaLink
USB.

I guess returning to the correct freq is the issue. I just got another
response with the same suggestion. This person says he has an FT-1000MP and
sees the same problem when “wing it” is selected. There must be something
different about the MP that other radios don’t exhibit.
Thanks for the email.

Marty,
You have “fake it” turned on and FT8/wsjtx is moving your transmit freq to keep
you centered in the transmitter bandpass. It should always return to the
correct freq on receive.

When using WSFTx FT-8 Mode, every time the TX is keyed, the rig frequency drops
500 to 150 Hz. I have only operated on 20M at 14.047 MHz. Some times it
recovers to home frequency. I have disconnected all external equipment from
he computer except what is required to operate FT-8. I don’t see this issue on
PSK when I use fldigi.
See attached screen shots for the set up.
My Operating conditions are as follows:
WSJTx Release 1.9.1
FT-1000MP
MacBook Pro, OS 10.13.6
SignaLink USB
Brother Pinter
External Back-up Hard drive
Computer is linked to TX/RX CAT Serial DB-9 Jack for frequency control
Computer is linked to SignaLink USB, SignaLink is linked to TX/RX Packet DIN
Jack for keying and power control.
