Hi Dave and all,

Has anyone come up with ideas for avoiding dups when using FT8 in a
large contest? JTAlert checks B4 but its display matrix is limited and

I don't see that it checks for dups prior actual log entry (not much
help). But, I'm not really N1MM literate so I may be missing something.
JTAlert does preload a call into AClog but I can't check N3FJP contest
logs since N3FJP integration is AClog only.
This is already taken care of in RC5 (which is not yet released). In
RC5 the color highlighting is (finally!) working properly. See the
screen shot that I posted to this reflector a couple of hours ago.
Steve, K9AN, and I both used RC5 last night, and we found it highly
effective. We'll do our best to make RC5 (or the full v2.0 release)
available in plenty of time for the December 1-2 "FT8 Roundup".
One other point of interest. Steve and I were paying particular
attention to performance of the 77-bit decoder in a crowded band. The
mock contest provided an excellent indication of what it will be like
when everyone upgrades to using the v2.0 protocols. Decoding
performance was uniformly excellent -- including the frequent copy of 2
or even 3 overlapping signals. THanks mostly to Steve's efforts, the
77-bit decoder has some significant improvements over the older 75-bit one.
