This zombie topic has been around since the early days of FT8. According to some, the arrows point the correct way, according to others they point backwards. Like the arrows, there are arguments both ways. Clearly, it’s an individual thing.

It's a data-flow indicator showing the direction of data travel - it's not a button which some seem to interpret as pointing to the thing you want to change.
