Once upon a time it was recommended that FSK441 and JT65 should use a 44.1kHz

about JT6M? Or so we just rely on a sample rate converter for the legacy modes
and always run 48kHz now? Could one of the developers please advise?

Hi Conrad,
it is not so much the modes but the application used.
WSJT uses an 11025 Hz base rate so 44100 Hz sample rate is appropriate
as that divides down without fractional remainders.
WSJT-X uses a 12000 Hz base rate so 48000 Hz, 96000Hz, or 192000 Hz are
all suitable for the for the same reason.
Using 44100 Hz with WSJT-X or 48000 Hz with WSJT will work (I think -
definitely for WSJT-X) but there will be small rounding errors in the
sample rate conversion which equate to noise or other distortion and you
don't want that when you are interested in the weakest signals.
