the current version of Linux Mint is suitable for installing the WSJT-X
v2.0.0 official release Debian package, which version of Mint are you using?
The Qt5 multimedia plugins package is not a build dependency for WSJT-X
but it is a run time dependency. That is why it is mentioned in the User
Guide:
