Those files haven't been used in quite a while.
And with the development source not available anymore it's impossible to keep
up with recent changes.
So you're left with using the main hamlib git repository if you want to keep
up-to-date.
I just changed my git location to refer to there instead of Bill's repository.

"Patching Sources
================

This build  script includes source patching  capabilities. The sources
for Hamlib and those for WSJT-X may have a patch applied automatically
prior to  configuration and  building.  Any  patches required  must be
contained in  one of  the files  hamlib.patch or  wsjtx.patch. "

If this patch is included in your (so also the main) trunk, I could just
replace the hamlib parts andhave a testbuild with 9700 support.

Looks like there haven't been any updates to the WSJTX default hamlib
repository since Mar 15 so the latest IC-9700 fixes aren't in there.  I believe
you are using my fork right now.
What build instructions are you referring to?

 hi Mike,
sort of. I know I can put the branch I have at the same place but the build
instructions of wsjt-x talk a bout specific patches thatare/were not included
yet to have wsjt-x working correctly.

If you mean the IC-9700 specifically that has been incorporated in the 4.0
branch of hamlib and should appear in the next release of WSJT-X.

In the build instructions there have been notes about hamlib not having the
patches merged into their code yet.
Now, we're seeing hamlib v4.x ; Is that still the case that patches are not
merged?_______________________________________________
