Hi Graham, You have an interesting Pico Balloon project. May I ask how the FT8 mode will should provide a belt and suspenders? I assume that the balloon transmitter just broadcasts WSPR and/or FT8 without any reception possibility and so nobody should answer to that CQ. If so I think that you don’t need a ‘CQ’ in your message at all and could use Free text to broadcast VE3GHM FN25 or whatever the locator may be. Even VE3GHM FN25JR would just fit in! 73, Reino oh3mA
