Apologies in advance if this has been discussed before - I tried searching
the list archives and couldn't find anything.

Would it be possible upon requesting a band change, while operating in
"Split: Rig" mode, for WSJT to send the appropriate hamlib/rigctl commands
to either re-configure the split tx frequency or take the radio completely
out of split mode before the first transmission?

The reason I am asking is that after a band change, I have to quickly tap
and untap the Tune button in WSJT to reconfigure the tx frequency of my
IC-7300. Just the band change alone won't do it; if I band change in WSJT
and then immediately try to tune, the radio will transmit on the old
frequency and nothing downstream (e.g. automatic tuner / antenna switcher /
amplifier) will notice anything has changed.

For instance:

- User starts by operating on 40m band. The IC-7300 is set to 7.074 MHz for
Rx and is configured to Tx split on 7.0755 Mhz

- User chooses to QSY to 160m band via the drop-down in WSJT. Their 40m
antenna will not tune to 160m, so they need their rig to be ready to send
RF on 1.840 MHz in order for their antenna switcher/tuner to operate

- WSJT currently sets only the Rx frequency of the rig to 1.840 MHz; as of
v2.1.2 when operating with an IC-7300, the previously-used split Tx
frequency of 7.0755 MHz remains configured at this point

- As a result, attempting to tune or have the automatic antenna switcher
select an antenna based on incoming RF will not work; it will observe a
7.0755 MHz carrier wave from the radio during tuning and will not make any
changes

- The rig will not be reconfigured to use a split Tx frequency about 1.840
MHz until they attempt to transmit; this will either waste the first
transmission attempt because the radio will be interrupted by the tuning
process or (worst case) send excessive RF into the non-resonant antenna
because WSJT transmission happens at full power while tuning happens at a
reduced 1 watt.

Hope that makes sense - am I the only one experiencing this situation?

Cheers - 73
Matt
