Since the software is not coded to simultaneously decode and process 2 audio channels at the same time, The closest you can come to diversity is to run 2 instances of WSJT-X, each on its own audio channel. Then you would manually compare each decode cycle.
It is possible to do all the work in code, and an initial implementation has been done successfully in my opinion. Search the archives here around Jan and Feb 2019 for posts (“FT8 diversity patch”) about code developed by Iztok, S52D and some test results posted by me. The feature comes at a cost (coding, support, CPU resources) which the developers evaluated and determined was not appropriate at the time for the mainstream radio owner/operator target of WSJT-X. * Mike From: Jon Anhold <j...@anhold.com> Sent: Sunday, January 12, 2020 17:18 To: WSJT software development <wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: Re: [wsjt-devel] IC-7610 Sound Card Input - 2 channels Bill, Well, it'd be relevant with my 7610 to do diversity reception. Is it not technically possible? Unfortunately, the selection for "Both" on the soundcard input settings window is greyed out. The sound device in Windows is configured for 2 channels. [cid:image001.png@01D5C996.05DB8E90] Any ideas? Thanks & 73 de KM8V Hi Jon, the "Both" option is only relevant for output, in which case the same audio goes to both left and right channels. 73 Bill G4WJS. _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net<mailto:wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel<https://eur04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Flists.sourceforge.net%2Flists%2Flistinfo%2Fwsjt-devel&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ce7a4a442b1b9489b8f2008d797c70290%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637144753334455806&sdata=MyKEJG7eK%2FruPXUOJJxBuHkuWEbHy%2F3jIwyinMs5aNQ%3D&reserved=0>
