You recommendation seems like a much-too-strong way to prevent a
particular operator error.
WSJT-X has *lots* of features that the vast majority of operators do not
use. Of well over 20,000 active users, probably fewer than one percent
use the modes JT4, QRA64, ISCAT, or even FreqCal. I can assure you,
however, that loud screams would be heard if any of these capabilities
should disappear. If these special-purpose features were removed WSJT-X
might be more foolproof, but what remains would be a pale, stripped-down
shadow of the current program.
We could, however, protect you from fat fingers on your Android phone
and make sure that if you check "Ref Spec" and have not bothered to
provided a reference spectrum, the program would warn you or ignore your
request.
