Hi Matt,

you can log these callers or ignore them, to log them you will have to guess their FD section which may be possible with a bit of help from QRZ.COM. You can bet 1D is their FD class. If they are DX there's no issue, just use "1D DX", I suppose you could use "1D DX" for all of them and maybe sort them out post FD, but since there's no FD requirement to log exchanges there's not much point other than self curiosity.

I experienced this several times, though when I went back and looked at what they sent in the decode window it appeared the other station was sending a “normal” exchange not a “field day” exchange, so it would be something like “-15” instead of the class/section.

Too bad it wasn’t able to somehow differentiate and either log it separately or offer a way to always ignore if it wasn’t a field day exchange sent.  Maybe some way to add an alert if a non-contest station attempts to contact a station calling CQ Contest, perhaps as a checkbox?

The Sent Exchange field is empty, which is why it objects.  It didn't get populated during the session when NA5D sent an R (Tx3), which  pushed your session into a premature RR73.  BUT....why should that field ever be empty while in a contest mode?

While trying to log a FD FT4 contact twice now I have been unable to log contacts due to getting this type error. Both time using FT4 mode and both stations were late calling or responding to my answer of their CQ FD. I had to manually enter each QSO what am I doing wrong why will this not log. Using JTAlert and latest HRD.
Thanks 73 Morris WA4MIT
