Unless you have an Elecraft rig you really don't want any or very minimal ALC
to avoid harmonics.  Zero ALC pretty much guarantees you won't be generating
harmonics. Most rigs can do very close to full power without showing ALC.
Two of us wrote a paper on how to set your audio which works on every rig it's
been used on.  Elecraft rigs are the "oddball" that needs 4 bars or so of
ALC.You can typically get around 90% of the power setting on the rig without
ALC.  So a 100W setting can usually do around 90W with zero ALC.

Thanks Larry, I went with Bill's advice on the up/down button for 0.1dB
steps, which

is what I need to get my alc right where I want it for best signal Q.

However a per-band memory of setting would be very useful, and a number
representing the level

would mate well with that. I still request the feature for future
development I originally asked for,

but I do appreciate the extra info.
