I have done a lot more work with the tune button and have found a method to
test the mouse and the observed double click behavior I saw is definitely from
my computer and/or mouse, not WSJT-X. You can single click an icon for an open
app in the taskbar on Windows and it should alternate between minimize and
normal size cleanly. Mine has random spurts of double click behavior. Even
with new batteries, different double click timing settings. Time for a new
mouse I think.

There remains a pattern I see with the Tune button I am sure is unrelated to
the mouse, it tends to randomly drop to the level of non-tune operation. If I
have the non-Tune power level set to 50% then turn up the power to about 95%
(-1dB) for tune, then click with the mouse or keyboard space bar to toggle the
tune button while testing calibration of my wattmeters into a dummy load, the
power would drop, I look up and see the power slider is exactly the level of
the non-tune setting at 50%. While random, it was very frequent. It is like
the Tune per band setting is ignored on occasion. No other changes to the
radio or WSJT-X were made apart from occasionally adjusting the slider to vary
power level. So far I do not think the slider adjustment has any impact. It
works for several toggle events then reverts the non-tune power setting well
after the slider change was done.

Another problem I spotted with the Tune button operation. I have the power
slider turned way down for normal operation and the Tune button set near the
top. Transmit and Tune per Band are checked on. Periodically the Tune level
resets to the normal level which was low so I have to slide it back up. Very
random.

I have found a similar random seeming event but somewhat frequent. I use the
Tune button with the power slider to create a variable level signal for my VHF+
power meter calibration and amplifier testing so I use it a lot at times. I
find I turn tune on while in FT8 at random times for my test, don’t care about
period, and it turns on but then immediately turns off. Have not nailed down
the exact conditions yet as I am not usually looking at the screen, instead
watching my meters and relays. Not double clicking. I happen to have the TX
1st button checked. I will uncheck it and watch.

It behaves like a single mouse event gets treated as a double click event. I
also see this randomly with the Erase button. 1 click to clear the RX window
and sometimes both windows clear. I am sure I did not double click but it is a
wireless mouse and while other things seem to work as expected, who knows.

You may already have this one..

1) With TX odd/1st selected and observe the TX audio out of WSJT...
2) at 3 seconds into the odd period, toggle TUNE on then off.
3) TX audio starts when TUNE is toggled on and then off briefly and then back
on until the end of the period.
