Use the ARRL RTTY Roundup configuration/messages in your software. Use the bands that are open for you and operate as though it is the real contest. Be sure to setup a contest-specific CQ message, e.g., CQ FTRU, so others know to call you with RU messaging rather than daily default messaging. For each of FT4 and FT8 on each band, there are three sub-bands recommended. See Rule 1. <https://www.rttycontesting.com/ft-roundup/rules/> for details. When the first sub-band gets crowded, move up to the second or third sub-band. IOW, "spread out" just as is done in other contest modes.
