Spent a couple hours on the phone last weekend with (my cousin) AC6CD,
trying to resolve a problem he has experienced with both v. 2.3.0 and v.
2.4.0-RC1 while operating FT8. When he enables transmit in that mode,
the Enable TX is dropped at the end of the transmission, requiring him
to re-enable it for each subsequent one, and a Rig Control Error box
appears occasionally on his screen. He is running the program under
Windows 10, 64-bit, a SignaLink for his CODEC, and his radio is a Yaesu
FTDX3000 properly configured as such in his settings. This occurs in
both above versions, whether or not he has JTAlert concurrently running
on his system. The FTDX5000 radio setting was tried and it yielded the
same result.
He presently has versions 2.2.2, 2.3.0 and 2.4.0-RC1 installed in
separate WSJT\ subdirectories on his system. The above problem does not
occur with v.2.2.2. He did not try using any of the 2.3.0-RCs prior to
the GA release.
No problems have been encountered with either version at my station on
my IC-756ProIII or IC-7610.
