It only happens to me occasionally and is easy to rectify but certainly
puzzled me, and I suspected a faulty dongle until a web search told me it
was likely a USB enumeration issue.
I think it's probably something to do with the order of my plugging in the
rig CAT control, the GPS dongle, booting/waking the laptop and/or the USB
ports used for each device.
It's not a serious issue and therefore not something I'll spend a lot of
time hunting down, nor stop using the GPS dongle as a result.
