Joe K1YOW I was given that tip before but at times I wanted to see the previous set of decodes so I found it very frustrating, but the suggestion has clued me into something - possibly.
I saw the problem several times tonight running on 80M FT8. While I don't like the "start new period decodes on top" setting, after finishing a QSO I quite often double click the erase button to clear both windows. The problem seems to occur then. The issue, as I mentioned before, is that it calls whomever has been on the RX frequency, rather than the intended station. As the windows has been erased, it is hard to imagine a timing issue, as the location of the decode on the screen doesn't change (unless the window fills up, which is rare even on HF. I noticed a few nights ago that a double click on a blank line can sometimes also cause the program to start transmitting. Hopefully that's a clue for someone. I suspect that my Erase habit might be shared by a handful of other which might explain why some people don't experience the problem, especially if they frequent the less-populated bands. So I think the scenario is or is close to (a) Call someone, but they don't answer or answer someone else, (b) erase both sides, but RX is left on the same frequency (c) double click intending to call someone else (d) it answers the person you called in (a). Maybe this will ring a bell with the other folks who have experienced it. 73, Chris > I found that in the settings, clicking on "start new period decodes on top" in the first settings page, for me anyway, greatly reduced the number of > times of getting the wrong station when double clicking on a CQ.
